Carol & Jing Retreats put together a truly special experience. It was the perfect step-away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, surrounded by gorgeous mountains and forests, coordinated by one of the friendliest and most considerate instructors you could ask for.
As an instructor, Carol exudes a supportive, warm presence and always had alternatives ready for different skill levels. As someone who is relatively new to practising yoga, not only were the classes a nice (and very humbling) introduction to various styles and paces of yoga, but the workshops were also fun opportunities to break out and push through personal boundaries.
Although the day’s itinerary was jam-packed on paper, it was certainly not at the expense of calmness. Free time gave everyone the chance to pursue their own downtime. This time was a guilt-free chance to slow down and listen to your mind and body.
The best part, though, was gathering around the table and getting to know the other people taking part. It was a small, close-knit group: friendly, open, and genuinely willing to throw themselves into every facet of the trip, from yoga sessions to hikes to late-night chats. Sharing stories, laughter, and meals together added a warmth and sense of connection that made the whole experience even more special.
I could not recommend Jing Retreats more. I’d never booked a solo trip before - let alone been on a retreat! - and really didn’t know what to expect or if it would be something that was for me. And it is now up there as one of the most incredible trips I’ve ever been on.
To wake up everyday in the Montenegro mountains in a luxury pod, going for hikes by the sea, painting in the grass, evening saunas, sunsets, sunrises, such interesting tea tastings and amazing healthy, nourishing food. And that doesn’t even cover the practices! Carol is a truly wonderful teacher. She creates such a connected, supportive atmosphere that feels safe, encouraging you to tune into your body and do what feels right for you - I would always leave her classes feeling so confident and strong.
I felt genuinely restored leaving the retreat (albeit very sad to leave the amazing community we’d built over there!) but already can’t wait for the next one.

Nestled in the mountains of Tivat, the retreat gave me the space to fully recharge and reconnect with myself after constant work burnouts. From feel-good food and breathtaking views to relaxing massages and thoughtfully planned activities, every detail was designed to offer the stress-free escape I needed.
As a yoga beginner, I was nervous walking into my first class, but Carol’s kind, attentive nature - and the warm, welcoming group - instantly created a safe and supportive space. Her depth of knowledge and careful guidance taught me so much, and yoga has since become a grounding part of my everyday life.
I loved that each day brought something new, and one of my favourite memories was our bonfire night - sharing s’mores, laughing together, and watching the Milky Way above us. Such a wholesome and rich memory that I’ll always treasure!
I can’t thank Jing Retreats enough for going above and beyond to take care of us all and I’ll definitely be back!
